Information sessions on endangered EP Blue Gum Woodlands

Farmers, Landcare and community group members and nature enthusiasts are warmly welcomed to three open information sessions on the endangered Eyre Peninsula Blue Gum Woodlands to be held during April at Wangary, Yallunda Flat and Cleve. The free information sessions will focus on the significance of the woodlands, why they are in decline and most importantly how people can help with individual restoration efforts.

Autumn prescribed burns to begin around Eyre Peninsula

A number of burns are planned around Eyre Peninsula by the Department for Environment and Water (DEW) as part of the autumn prescribed burn program. Burns are planned for Lincoln National Park, Venus Bay Conservation Reserve, Bascombe Well Conservation Park and Pinkawillinie Conservation Park, as well as private land north of Tulka.

Art and science fix for endangered Whibley’s wattle

A burst of yellow wattle blossom has now become a part of Tumby Bay's growing street art scene. The towns newest painting by talented local artist Danica Gates showcases the endangered Whibley’s wattle (Acacia whibleyana), a threatened flora species only found around Tumby Bay and nowhere else in the world.

Locals and visitors are invited to four family friendly events and marine discovery displays, hosted by Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula, as part of the Department for Environment and Water’s state-wide Immerse Yourself program in January.
